 Meaghan Smith THE CRICKET’S QUARTET (CD/DVD) By: Shawn Shapiro An old fashioned delight with a touch of the present is the best way to describe the music of Meaghan Smith. It harkens back to music of a simpler time. This Disc and DVD set is a very easy listen and is also infused with a 2008 vibe. On the CD, I KNOW is a strong opener which has a jazz infused feel. Its lyrics are well thought out and the tune is soft and enjoyable. A LITTLE LOVE brings an old fashioned feel with a bit of extra pizzazz. DRIFTED APART is the big winner of the disc though and closes it out with a soft, yet steady bang. The DVD encompasses some very strong visually intriguing videos with a making of video. We get to see a special side of Meaghan and are welcome into her world. This disc and DVD work well together and give us a feel for who Meaghan Smith is as a chanteuse. Her soft and caring voice gives a calm feel to a Disc that plays out very well. |
